気温が高いですが、一気に人が少なくなったので、メジャーなコースを滑ってました。
場所によってはクリーミーなナイスパウダー！。
今夜からまた降雪の予報、春の陽気とパウダーが混在する不思議で素敵な季節が始まります。

Through the flat light this morning, somehow I saw where I was riding. The temperature increased but all of a sudden there were few people around so I was able to ride freely on all the main runs. If you found the right spot there was definitely good powder. From tonight a new season begins, it forecasted to snow therefore Spring weather and powder will begin to co-exist.

昨夜からの降雪はほとんどありませんが、今日は風も少なくリフトはたいがい動いています。

春の感じも若干感じられるようになってきましたが、まだまだ冬。
低気圧も北上するようなので、もうしばらく弱い冬型になるんでしょうね。

晴れたら山は最高そうです！
ところで皆さんは、春のプランは決まってますか？
雪もあるし４月も良さそうですよ。

This morning there was a soft light shining through the clouds. There was little snowfall last night and today, the winds calmed and lifts were running as per usual. There was a slight feeling of spring in the air but winter is still definitely here. The low pressure from the north will probably bring winter conditions to the Niseko area. If this occurs, this would be best for the area!
For everyone that has not made plans for the Spring, just so you know that snow conditions are great in April too!

NEC_0097.jpg 288×352 12K今日は朝から気温が高く、湿り雪が降り、山の上はガスってます。すごい嵐が過ぎて行ったら、また来るみたいです。前は風だけが強かったので、次は雪も降ってくれるのを願います。お願いします！ O-M
Today temperatures increased, the snow was wet and there was fog throughout the mountain. Just when we thought the storm was over, another storm has begun. The last storm brought a lot of wind and little snow so hopefully the next storm brings a whole lot of snow….please!

080225R.jpg 240×320 21Kここ２日間の強風で、昨日までのパウダーは遥か太平洋にまで？すっ飛んでしまったらしく、
いつものパウダーエリアは斜面が削られ、固い風紋が至る所に出来ていて、良い場所を選ぶのに
なかなか苦労しました。でもある所にはあり（モイワエリア内等）、久々に天気も良く、ナイスな一日でした。
また明日以降、断続的な冬型になりそうなので、固い風紋をリセットしてくれると思います！
雪質は相変わらず上質、アンヌプリナイターもカービング最高でしょう！！。

For the past couple of days, a strong wind from the Pacific had brought powder to Niseko….? I rode out into the usual powder area instead the snow was wind packed, hard and there were snow drifts everywhere. It was difficult to find a good line but I managed to find a good route. I decided to go to the Moiwa ski area and for the first time in the day the weather turned nice and the day became a lot better. It seems as though it will continue snowing tomorrow and the weather will reset the snow throughout the area. The snow conditions are good and the Annupuri night riding carving conditions should be great!!

sepi.jpg 225×300 4K今日は至る所で通行止め、スキー場は軒並みクローズととてつもない嵐に見舞われたニセコとなりました。残念ながら、GENTEMstick主催のバンクドスラロームの大会も中止になり、優勝を夢見てワックスがけに気合いを入れていたであろう選手たちも、朝からままさんダンプで除雪におわれていたことでしょう。まぁこればっかりはしょうがないですよね。まぁおかげで山はオールリセット、明日は間違いなくTheDayになるでしょう。みなさん、今日はもし晴れ間が見えても無理しないでくださいね！！

Today there was a storm that brought strong winds and snow throughout the Niseko ski area. Due to the storm, unfortunately the GENTEMstick Pipe Masters Banked Slalom competition on Higashiyama was cancelled. As I waxed my board in the morning I was dreaming of winning the competition, instead I was removing snow with the “mama dump” in my driveway. Tomorrow will be “the day” as everything will be reset. If there is a break in the storm today please do not over do it and be careful in the mountains.

今日は東山スタートのクルージングに行きました。朝のゴンドラは減速していたけど、ゲレンデはパックしたパウダーでした。比羅夫に移動してみると、雪質が変わり、バフバフの所もけっこうありました。帰りに東山に行くとゴンドラは止まり誰もいなく朝より深い雪が待ってました。 ニセコは嵐の最中でゲレンデ内でも小さな雪崩が起きる状態です。ロープだけはくぐらないで！ O-M

With the storm blowing, I started my morning cruising at Higashiyama. The gondola was running slower than usual because of the weather and the piste was packed powder. I decided to go to Hirafu where the snow conditions were changing from lighter to more heavier“bafu bafu” powder. Later in the day when I returned to Higashiyama, the gondola had stopped, there was no one around and the snow was getting deeper and deeper. Niseko is currently in the middle of a storm so there is a lot of snow piling up throughout the ski area, there is always a possibility of avalanches and sluffs. Please be careful and aware of the risks and DO NOT duck ropes!

ガスもだんだん降りて来て、
何処を滑っているのか分からない、酔っぱライダー？？。
ゲレンデでしたが、ある所にはありました。
明日の昼以降の暴風雪に注意です！。

・・・今ニセコにショーンホワイトがいるらしい・・・

The low pressure from the south has blanketed Niseko with wet snow. The fog was thick today and at times I didn’t know where I was riding, I felt drunk. Once the fog cleared, I realized that I had been riding on the piste!
It looks as though the weather will be bringing another front of snow tomorrow afternoon!
On a side note, there is talk that Sean White is in Niseko....

R0011026.jpg 800×600 28K２日間の降雪なしの状況、その後昨夜半からの降雪。
朝起きてみると駐車場に１０CM強の積雪、空は晴れている。
う〜ん、微妙。と思っていると空が暗くなり激しい降雪。また晴れる。

よーし行ってみるか、と熟知した林間斜面へ。
そして当たりました！！！
ノートラックの底付きなしの斜面で気持ちよく滑れました。

春の天候が少し感じられるようになって来たけど、まだ冬です！

After midnight last night it began to snow after 2 days of no snow. When I got up in the morning there was 10 cm of fresh snow in the parking lot and the sky was clear. As I began to ponder what the conditions were going to be like for the day, the sky began to darken and snow began to fall. Then, the sky cleared…again!

I decided to head towards a familiar tree run and it proved to be a good choice! An amazing run, no tracks top to bottom!!

Although it started to feel a bit like Spring in Niseko winter is still definitely here!!

NEC_0091.jpg 288×352 9K今日は朝から天気も良くチセをからめてのバックカントリーに仲間と行ってきました。雪は歩きやすく人もいなく滑る所は最高の雪！本当にニセコはすごい所だと、また想いました。まだ雪は生きてますよ！

Today with the beautiful weather, I decided to go into the backcountry of Chise with a friend. The snow conditions made the hike easy, the runs fast and smooth and to top it off, we were the only souls around. I truly realized how amazing of a place Niseko is...
The snow still continues to live on......

昨日からの降雪はほぼ無しでしたが、風向きが変わり、積雪も移動した所があるみたいです。
1000M以上はまだ若干の強風でしたが、雪は昨日のパウダーが少し締まって良く走るグッドパウダーでした！。
面はピステン、スプレーはオーバーヘッド！！、、これもまた最高です。

Yesterday there was very little snowfall but the wind had moved a lot snow. Above 1000 metres, winds were strong and yesterday’s powder had settled leaving a whole lot of “good powder” to be had! The spray was flying overhead and smiles were all around...

や〜今回のセットははんぱないですね〜まだまだ続いていますよ！！

Today the snow was amazing! The snow was fast, the turns were deep and the spray was flying over head!! The most recent front has brought incredible snow and it doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon!!!

NEC_0090.jpg 288×352 9K今日は今シーズンでも一番くらい深い雪でした。朝から温度も上がらずナイターに来てみると、日中は壁の雪がかなり深かったみたいで下にしかラインがなく、加速装置付きで、しつこく修業してました。相変わらずニセコは朝から晩まで最高です。皆さん待ってますよ。

センタ−４は朝から大人気でした！。

BCエリアはまだ危険な状態だったので、ゲレンデで十分。
このセットしばらく続きそうですね、
BCエリアへ行かれる方はご安全に〜。

R0010965.gif 600×450 218K昨日からの「風」。午後から少しは落ち着いてきましたが、昨日に続いてほとんどのリフトが止まっています。
夕方にはセンター４など中腹まではいけた様ですが、スキー場は概ね復活しました！
しかし風の影響で危険斜面は、各所に発生したと予測出来ます。
明日から最高ですが、ちょっと気をつけて行きましょう。

無理に山には入らずに、のんびり温泉でもいくのがいい日ですね
